Wie den Medienberichten der letzten Wochen zu entnehmen war, steigen die Rohstoffpreise auf immer neue Rekordmarken. Betroffen sind zum einen die Rohstoffe direkt, aber auch oftmals Produkte, die aus einem großen Anteil Rohstoffe bestehen bzw. für die ein hoher Anteil Energieaufwand zur Herstellung erforderlich ist. Auf XXXXX bezogen bedeutet dies Preissteigerun¬gen in der gesamten Wert¬schöpfungskette, angefangen bei Draht, Stahl für Werkzeuge, Stromkosten [hoher Anteil in der Galvanik Härterei], Schmier¬mittel/Öle, Chemikalien, Gase, Verpackungsmate¬rialien, Heizung/Kühlung, Transporte etc. Anhand der gezeigten Schaubilder können Sie er¬kennen, dass die Kosten¬steigerungen bei Stahl, sowieden GrundstoffenEi-senerz und Öl, uns in be¬sonderem Maße betreffen. Beim Öl gehen Analysten davon aus, dass der Preis pro Barrel dauerhaft kaum noch unter 90 $ sinken wird, mit entsprechenden Folgen für Energiekosten, Schmierstoffpreise und Transportkosten. Ähnliche Entwicklungen sind bei den anderen Roh¬stoffen zu erwarten, wo Konzentrationen im Minen¬geschäft und der steigende Bedarf, vor allem aus dem asiatischen Raum, dazu führt, dass die hohen Preise der wenigen Anbieter be¬zahlt werden müssen. Im Stahlbereich bedeutet dies, dass neben den Roh¬stoffen auch Stahlschrott als Spekulationsobjekt an¬gesehen wird und der Schrottpreis dadurch stän¬dig steigt. Bestandteile bei Stählen sind, neben einem Grundpreis, verbreitet nun auch Schrottzuschläge und Legierungszuschläge. Den Weltmarktpreisen können wir nur in einem klei¬nen Maß durch geschicktes Einkaufen aus dem Wege gehen. Aber die Aufforde¬rung an uns alle lautet, sich der Werte, die wir täglich bearbeiten bewusst zu wer¬den und möglichst sorgsam mit den Ressourcen umzu¬gehen und keine Ver¬schwendung zu betreiben. Zu berücksichtigen ist selbstverständlich nach wie vor der Qualitätsgedanke, so dass keine fehlerhaften Produkte hergestellt wer¬den.
Translation - English Using raw materials wisely
As you will have read or heard in media reports in recent weeks, the cost of raw materials is constantly hitting new record levels.
On one hand it is the raw materials themselves that are directly affected, but very often products consisting of a large proportion of raw materials, or which require a large amount of energy to make them, are also affected by the price rises.
In the case of XXXXX this means an increase in prices along the entire value-added chain, starting with the wire, the steel for the tools, the cost of power (used particularly in the electroplating and the hardening shops), of lubricants/oils, chemicals, gases, packaging materials, heating/cooling, transport etc.
The graphs below show that increases in the cost of steel, its principle component of iron ore, and in general of oil, are particularly affecting us.
In the case of oil, analysts are forecasting that the price per barrel is unlikely ever to fall below $90, bringing the inevitable consequences for the cost of energy, lubricants, and transport.
Similar developments can be expected from the other raw materials, where amalgamations within the mining industry as well as increased demand - especially from Asia - means that high prices have to be paid to the few suppliers that are left.
In the steel industry, this means that, in addition to the raw materials, scrap steel is being seen as an object of speculation, and the cost of scrap is constantly increasing.
In steel, price components are now also published with scrap and alloy supplements, in addition to the basic price.
By buying wisely, we can counter the world market prices only to a small extent. But we must all be aware of the value of the things we process daily, handle the resources with care, and not be wasteful. As ever, we must, of course, keep quality in mind, so that no defective products are manufactured.

Wir sind auf einem guten Weg Während des in der Zeit von 13.-15.04. 2016 stattfindenden Treffens der XXX im Rahmen des diesjährigen GBL Checks hat sich eines definitiv herausgestellt => Die XXX ist auf einem sehr guten Weg die Vision 2020, xxx Millionen € Umsatz weltweit, zu realisieren. In einem äußerst spannenden und abwechslungsreichen Ablauf von Präsentationen und Workshops konnten sich die Teilenehmer von den Fortschritten überzeugen. Darüber hinaus wurden wichtige Punkte bei den Themen „Personalentwicklung“, „Qualität“, „Sales & Marketing“ in Form von Arbeitsgruppen erarbeitet die uns helfen werden als Gruppe erfolgreich zu sein. Bereits in der Auftaktpräsentation ging XXX (COO) auf die derzeitige Situation der gesamten Gruppe und der einzelnen Gesellschaften ein. Dabei kamen auch die Projektleiter der laufenden GROUP Projekte zu Wort. Einstimmige Aussage aller Projektverantwortlichen: Wir sind auf einem guten Weg, vor allem weil die Teams international sehr gut zusammenarbeiten. Die weiteren Erfolgsfaktoren wurden auf einer Pinwand unter der Headline „Fastening News“ zusammengefasst.
Translation - English The main topic of discussion at the most recent XXX meeting was the move from the "red ocean" of ankle-snapping, ruinous competition towards the "blue ocean" in which we successfully provide our customers with value that they appreciate and cherish. The strategy will allow us to expand our enterprise by investing in it, thus securing our jobs in the long term.
We are on the right road. One thing emerged from the XXXX meeting which took place between 13th and 15th April during this year's Business Plan check: the XXX is well on the road towards achieving the Vision 2020 target of €XX million in global sales. In an extremely exciting and varied series of presentations and workshops, attendees were able to see the progress for themselves. In addition, working groups discussed some important points concerning "staff development", "quality", and "sales and marketing" issues and these discussions will help us to become successful as a group. XXXX (COO) opened proceedings with a motivating presentation explaining the current situation of the entire group and each of the companies within it. It was then the turn of the project leaders who head the current GROUP projects. Project leaders were unanimous in saying that we are on the right road, particularly because the teams are working well together internationally. Other success factors were summarised on a pinboard under the headline of "Fastening News".

I have many specialist terms at my fingertips. I use translation memory software to form a database of past translations.
Recent work includes a series of in-house corporate magazines, the documentation for software operated at a major automotive company. user manuals for banking software, a car owner's manuals, an operator manual for machine tools, industrial press releases, corporate image documents, technical specifications, contracts, terms and conditions of business, and many more. In nineteen years of working professionally I have gained a huge amount of experience in countless fields, but mainly in technical translations.
