Rate of new translators entering the market per year?

I'm working on some market research. I'm developing a product and would like to know the average number of new translators that enter the market every year. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Dear Jenae,

Several thoughts come into mind. You could write to individual national translator associations and ask for the some numbers (new members, members with 1 or less translators) for the last three years.

For a few countries such as Argentina, the government licenses translators. So, theoretically the information is available.

Also, you can go through the "freelance" list on this site and focus on the last three or so years, seeing when people beg... See more
