Coping with hardship
Yesterday we announced the end of the discount and hardship offers, whereby new members were given 20% discount on both Standard and Plus memberships, and in certain cases of particular hardship, a small number of free memberships for various periods of time were given away.

Coping with hardship
Yesterday we announced the end of the discount and hardship offers, whereby new members were given 20% discount on both Standard and Plus memberships, and in certain cases of particular hardship, a small number of free memberships for various periods of time were given away.
We've been able to help a number of applicants, whose circumstances varied from military curfews to hospitalization, and from redundancies in the family to incomes plummeting to zero.

We hope this will support them as they get back on their feet. And we're always happy to hear suggestions as to how we can help further.

More on COVID-19 jobs
Following on from yesterday's announcement re COVID-jobs on the ProZ.com website jobs page, the COVID job button is now active.

If your skillset is particularly oriented towards texts around coronavirus issues, you can opt to see those jobs by activating the button.
At times like this, it's important to cut through the noise quickly, and this feature can help you do just that.

Polishing your profile
It's not easy by any means to deal with an enforced period of calm, as many translators are reporting.
One way to deal with it and put the time to productive use might be through returning to your profile to add some finishing touches, so that you're ready for the off when things begin to pick up in the weeks ahead.
As your number 1. marketing tool within ProZ.com, it's worth taking extra care over.
So why not visit this blog post by Mike Donlin and run through the checklist?

SDL Training offer
An interesting new development for anyone wanting to learn how to use SDL Trados Studio 2017 or 2019.
There's a variety of courses on the dedicated e-learning page on the ProZ.com website, to help you master this vital tool. Until now they have cost $130 each, but for the next 60 days the price has been slashed to just $9.99. During this difficult period, this might prove a valuable way to improve your skills.
Our thanks go to SDL Trados for their generosity and support at this time.

Perfecting your tagline
In times of crisis, it's more important than ever to stand out from the crowd. And one of your key tools as a ProZ.com member is your tagline.
But how to write something that's distinctive and still captures everything you want to say about being a translator? Well, a blog post written by Henry Dotterer over three years ago contains a wealth of tips which are just as relevant today as they were then.
Why not check out the post here, and revisit your tagline today? It could make all the difference in the future...
