Hi everybody,
sorry for posting in English, but I don't know a word of Georgian
I've been thinking for a while of visiting your country and Armenia and I hope
this can materialize in August. I might fly to Yerevan as it is cheaper.
Is it a nice time to travel? Is eveybody on holiday like in Italy? 'Cause I'd like to take
this opportunity to meet my peers and maybe organize a powwow...

Any advice is welcome. Unfortunately I'd have only a month to prepare for the journey,
so I don't know how many books I can read. I've also to brush up my Russian
as it might be quite handy I guess. Needless to say, I'm a fan of Georgian cuisine.

Thanks a lot,
Paola

Welcome to Georgia! Jun 18, 2008

Hello Paola,

I have no plans about my summer holidays yet, but it is quite possible that I will take it in August. You see, this is the hottest month in Tbilisi and I would like to go to mountains with my sun. But in case I stay in Tbilisi during your visit, I would willingly meet you

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy Georgia and have a lot of fun there...

Sorry Aug 11, 2008

I hope this post will find you all well.
I'm deeply sorry for the last events. I had to cancel my trip, but of course it's just temporary. I'll come to lovely Georgia as soon as possible and organize my powwow there.
A hug from Italy.
Paola

Thank you, Michal! I am sure the people from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the Ukraine do understand the situation rather better than the people from other countries.

Kind regards,
Levan

People from Belarus, too. At least, many. But there are others, too. When I added the Georgian flag to my profile picture in Odnoklassniki.ru , some put me '1' grades for that.

But sane people see what's happening.

Dear Paola, Paty, Michał, Yuri, Aug 29, 2008

Thank you all for your kind words!!!

Yuri, I am really happy to see your kind posting! People all over the world should respect each other and I strongly believe sane people are everywhere! The problem is really serious, but I hope it will be solved in a civilized way, and we, translators and interpreters have our duties, responsibilities and roles in this process.

Warm cheers
Maya

P.S. I do not see any reason yet, but to be on the safe side, I would like to remind possible new visitors about the site rule http://www.proz.com/siterules/forum/1#1 . Sorry for this P.S., but I hope this thread will respect this rule. Thank you for your understanding
