Меняю пособие G.G.Yudina, Improve Interpreting Skills (Москва: Международные отношения, 1976) на книгу “Серф-сказки, Никита Замеховский-Мегалокарди” или что-нибудь от Виктора Пелевина.

Improve Interpreting Skills - Совершенствуйте устный перевод

Пособие представляет собой сборник диалогов, в которых один из собеседников говорит на русском, другой на английском языке. Пособие предназначено для совершенствующих устный перевод.
Книга состоится из 4 главных частей по каждой теме: Dialogue, Topical Vocabulary, Possible Versions of Interpretation и Reminder.
Мне особенно нравится раздел напоминаний, так как там говорится об очевидном но постоянно забываемом, например:
“Pay attention to the possibilities of using one parto f speach instead of another in translation and interpretation, e.g.:
His paintings are remarkable for graceful drawing. Его картины отличаются изяществом рисунка.
Or:
We were amazed at the riotous colours of the canvas. Мы были поражены буйством красок на полотне художника. [Google: Мы были поражены буйных цветов на холсте.]
Though a trivial device, it still needs practicing.”

Пособие может быть не совсем свежее, но абсолютно актуально и по сей день. ▲ Collapse
