How to use Trados memory more effectively

We are doing everything we can in order to use the memory on Trados, to avoid inconsistencies. However, many times a segment that has already been translation does not appear. Is there any small detail that we are forgetting?

Also, when we hit the \"Translate\" button on \"Tools\", it does not always give us the translation; however, it appears when we click on every specific segment.
