MultiTerm error: 50169

Hi,
2 weeks ago I upgraded from Trados Freelance 5.0 to Trados Freelance 6.5.1.406 (Build 406)
I don’t like working with MultiTerm iX and I would prefer using Translator’s Workbench 6.5 with MultTerm 5.0.1.217 (Build 217)

Under Options >> Terminology Recognition Options I have set the correct MultiTerm version. Source and target languages are correct. Fuzzy index was created. Term recognition window in Trados is checked.

(50169): The active Multiterm version is not compatible.


I have already checked the Trados Knowledge Base but I did not find any document concerning my problem or error message.

My operating system is Windows 2000 Professional.
The problem arises when translating Word document (Word 97 as well as Word 2000)

Any ideas why this happens?

You need MultiTerm 5.5 Feb 27, 2004

Hi Maurizia,
You can use the "old" MultiTerm with T6.5, but you need MT 5.5 - 5.0 is indeed no longer compatible.

I suggest to get in touch with your local Trados office (where you bought the upgrade), and to ask them whether they can provide you with a MT5.5 Installer.

At the same time, you may want to download version 6.5.2 (Build 417) that contains a series of patches published for 6.5.
