Hi all,
I have the same problem as jfwhiteley (see http://www.proz.com/topic/13082) - my presentation contains unavailable fonts. I have followed the steps Haydee so kindly provided - but I may spend the afternoon clicking back and forth between ? and Arial in the Replace fonts dialog box. My presentation details are as follows:

Clicking only once Apr 15, 2004

Nancy,

I haven´t done any Powerpoint files for a long time, but as far as I can remember you just decide which fonts will replace the unavailable ones only once and you start translating the presentation straight away. Do I understand your question, I wonder?
Good luck

Haydée

Nah, the program won't let me, I tried what Ralf said and every single frame in every slide comes up with this message. I'll just have to translate it manually in order to make the deadline.
But next time... I hope to be able to work it out.
Thanks for your support
Nancy

Steps to replace unavailable fonts Apr 16, 2004

Hi Nancy:
If you are going to use TWindow, then I suggest the following:

1. Open Trados WB
2. Open TWindow for PowerPoint
3. Open the presentation
4. In Format, choose replace fonts
5. In the window that appears, look in the Replace window for fonts that have a ? mark before the name. These are the unavailable fonts. Choose one of the fonts to be replaced.
6. In the With: Window, choose the font you want to use instead of the unavailable font.... See more

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the fonts with question marks have been replaced.

If you have Trados 6.5, you could also translate PP files with TagEditor, eliminating the need to replace fonts.

HIH,

Ricardo

Thanks to everyone Apr 16, 2004

and especially Ralf, going above & beyond...;-)

I think in my case, given what I've been told about the improvements Trados, I'll have to search the couch cushions for spare change and upgrade...

Nancy:-)
