I cannot switch between visible/invisible text in my uncleaned Trados file. The source text stays visible, only the formatting symbols (paragraph) appear and disappear. Did I write it in the wrong mode all along? If I did, can I repair that now?

Hidden text Apr 27, 2004

This has been discussed many times, you can search the forums for more information.

In brief, switch to Normal view and go to: Tools - Options - View and uncheck the Hidden text option.

If you need to work in the Print Layout View, do the same and immediately restart Word, otherwise the setting will not take effect.

Try this: change your word settings... Apr 27, 2004

Open the file.
1. Click on Menue "Extras" (sorry, I know only the German names) then click "Optionen".
2. Click on the table "Ansicht"
3. In the second block (Formatierungszeichen) uncheck all checkboxes besides "Alle"
4. Then press the OK button...
It should work now, I hope ....

Many thanks, Wilhelm Polmann!
And the Link is good to know.
Meanwhile I have searched the archives and realized that similar questions have been asked many times. I was very nervous because I had to deliver and could not see how my translation actually looks like. But I sorted it out eventually. Next time I search before I ask, thank you all for your patience and help!
