Hi there, It all started a few days ago and I thought when I get a chance, I'll try re-installing Trados and hope that it works better. It worked twice just fine and now it's crashing again. There's been different error messages such as WinAlign has caused an error in TRADOSRTF.DLL. WinAlign will now close or WinAlign has caused an error in MFC70.DLL... With time, it gets worse and the computer crashes as well...Any idea what's wrong? Thanks for your help! TRADL

Hi TRADL, Why don't you start by adding some information? - Which version are you using (full version number, please - including the build number)? - What file type are you aligning when that happens? - As you indicated an error in tradosrtf.dll, this might be caused by a problem saving a Word file in RTF. Ok, that's a different story. - Do the RTF files contain pictures or graphics? - Have you installed a different version of Trados on your system? You may want to re-register your software (Start - Programs - Trados - Register Trados). Sounds like the error messages are created by your operating system (which?) - is this correct? Best regards, Ralf

But you may try to remove ALL formatting from your RTF file. Copy the text in the RTF then - without the last paragraph mark - into a new, clean file and save this as RTF. Maybe that works. For the next step I would really consider upgrading to Windows XP/Office XP or 2003 - Windows ME is known to be not the best, what came from MS... Regards Jerzy

convert into .txt | Jan 26, 2005 |
This sometimes occurs if the text has a complex formatting. Try convert a files in .txt and align them again. It must be OK, but check all align segments
