I have arranged to blue tooth a mike to his I pad so his wife can talk to him by displaying text in real time but the software I have tried ( ios8 , ipad notes plus others ) all cuts out after a few seconds of in activity. Invest in a MacBook with the full MacOS- this will enable you to use the Dictation facility (comes free with the OS) if you have a good quality USB mike. Bluetooth is not much good for these things.

I solved it Blue Peter style a couple of hours ago with a bit of strong masking tape to hold the USB plug in place... Not terribly aesthetically pleasing, but it does the job!

PS: I'm afraid I can't help
