Dear translators,

somebody knows, when IATE2 is ready for public use, or - if it is already - where can I find it? I've been searching for it since october last year, but unable to find more than the blue site with the rotating star
It's very useful for medical/pharmaceutical translations, whichwhy I really miss it.

Thanks i advance for every useful hint!

Kind regards
Annette

Thank you, Sara! Apr 15, 2019

I am sorry - I guess I had (again) a problem with Firefox, whichwhy the site didn't open. When You sent me this link, which was also the link I tried again and again, I tried to open it with another webserver, and now it works. Slowly, but it works. Thanks again, and sorry I didn't try this earlier. I just didn't get any error messages from Firefox, whichwhy I thought the site was not wrking.

Meh... Apr 15, 2019

I liked the old interface. The new setup is like a deterrent to me. Maybe they did it on purpose?

IATE 2 improved Apr 25, 2019

The very first version of the new IATE site didn't allow the use of well-known automated & time-saving lookup tools like Omni-Lookup. As this was a severe drawback, the IATE staff has improved the site, so such tools can be used again.

Hint for Omni-Lookup users:
Omni-Lookup's wizard isn't able to detect IATE's new functions, though. So you have to do the set-up manually, but this is very simple:
URL1 = https://iate.europa.eu/search/byUrl
URL2 = https://iate.europa.eu/search/byUrl
URL3 = https://iate.europa.eu/search/byUrl
Query = [GET]term={#}&sl=en

The above Query setting is an example only. You may amend it according to the info given at http://iate2.cdt.europa.eu/developers (click on "Show more").

E. g. Query = [GET]term={#}&sl=de&tl=en&type=2 looks up German phrases and gives English results.

Enjoy!
