Yes, but Utdanningsdirektoratet requires the use of the term in-servie training.

Utdanningsdirektoratet uses the term interchangeably with apprenticeship, and they prefer the term in-service, although I personally agree that apprenticeship is the better term.
In Norway, such programmes are run through the videregående (VG) structure, usually starting at VG2, based on an apprenticeship contract that involves this kind of on-the-job training and schooling (see 2+2 model).
but stick with apprenticeship, as I think it is a more precise term.
I often run into problems with Utdanningsdirektoratet on this kind of terminology!

disagree  Charlesp: I don't get it. As you usually are very precise, but here the ordbog you refer to defines it as "apprenticeship training at a workplace," and in-service training implies someone already a professional who is getting refresher courses. (but you say "5")
