ordinære domstoler

English translation: courts of general jurisdiction

Bus/Financial - Law: Contract(s)
Norwegian term or phrase: ordinære domstoler
I'm struggling with this term because of the context it appears in. I understand it as 'ordinary courts of law', but the "ved bedriftens forretningsadresse" makes me think that this isn't correct. Any input much appreciated. Context below.

"Hvis tvisten ikke kan løses på denne måten, skal den henvises til de ordinære domstoler ved bedriftens forretningsadresse."

Thanks in advance.

Courts of Justice

Explanation:
This is a guess and I don't know the ins and outs of the rules in different countries on this: Courts of Justice or ordinary courts in which the business is domiciled.

Example sentence(s):
  • Jurisdiction is the set of rules that determine where you can raise a court action..... A corporation or association is domiciled in the place in which it has its registered office, central administration or principal place of business.

Trial Court

Explanation:
Trial Courts have original jurisdiction and are distinct from appellate courts, which only hear appeals; trial courts are the first to hear a case.
Circuit Courts in the US have original jurisdiction and can function as trial courts.

Example sentence(s):
  • The Chief Justice for Administration and Management oversees the seven trial court departments.
