The spouses declare lack of assets Explanation: on page 27 in the link it says that to get a divorce a couple needs to first sign an agreement on the division of assets. If there is complete lack of assets (algert eignarleysi) then they simply need to make a declaration about that before a sýslumaður or a judge. I guess the poor people just don't have anything!!? I think I have translated something like this before. I don't remember how exactly I phrased it but this is what it should mean. Is your document isssued by a sýslumaður?
