Swedish term or phrase: produktionsbortfall vs. produktionsförlust
While translating this document, I had assumed that produktionsbortfall and produktionsförlust were one and the same thing - loss of production.

Now I have reached a point in the text where there seems to be a clear difference between them in the Swedish, as both are dealt with separately in separate sections.

Here is some context to help:

Produktionsbortfall - "Parterna är i förevarande fall dock inte överens om storleken av produktionsbortfallet och hur bruttovinstmarginalen ska beräknas."

Produktionsförlust - "De påstådda kostnaderna har på intet sätt minskat någon produktionsförlust."

If anyone has the time to explain the difference between the two, I would be most grateful.

drop in production vs production loss
Explanation:
The difference is how the reduction in production is caused...

agree  Helen Johnson: fall in production v production loss(es) - quantity versus financial loss is what it has always been when I've translated such things too
