Norwegian term or phrase: halvtin
I've come across this instruction in a recipe:

"Halvtin finnbiffen og stek den raskt på sterk varme."

Is it a way to say "halve" or "divide", perhaps?

Thanks in advance!

Explanation:
Less precise maybe, but we usually just say "partially thaw" in English.
