Swedish term or phrase: mellan människorna så som individer
I'm struggling with this Swedish quotation (in a Norwegian document):

(...) "Att den mellan människorna så som individer allmänt erkända broderlighetens princip nödvendigt måtte föra till även folkens förbrödring.”

So far I have: “That the principle of brotherhood recognised universally by peoples and individuals alike must also lead to fraternity between nations."

But am I missing something here? Particularly here "mellan människorna så som individer"?

Prompt response appreciated (in Swedish or English)!

English translation:between people as individuals
Explanation:
This is a fairly literal translation. I would not translate the definite article in "människorna" in this phrase, as it does not fit the English.

"Peoples" is definitely out of place, I think, as that would be more like "folken" (plural definite) in Swedish.
