Dandole continuidad a la traducción del documento sobre agua y saneamiento, les comparto un extracto de éste:

Si se tratara de simplificar los esfuerzos por el lado de oferta de mercado de una iniciativa de fortalecimiento de mercados, sería la construcción de una cadena de valor sostenible en agua y saneamiento. Ahí descansa el éxito o el fracaso.
Traducción:
If we had to reduce/simplify* efforts of the market supply of a market strengthening initiative, then [we would have to reduce?/it would be] the creation of a sustainable water and sanitation value chain. It is where the success or failure [of the initiative] rests.

I am not sure if "simplify" collocates with effort(s).

Ese "por el lado de", en mi humilde opinión no es más que un "de [la]". En caso contrario, estaría cayendo en una traducción literal "on the side of the market supply of a..."

I would try to keep it as simple as possible, and perhaps something similar to: "If we were to simplify the supply-side efforts of a market-strengthening initiative, it would be the development of a sustainable water and sanitation value chain. It is where success or failure [of the initiative] rests."
