Swedish term or phrase: myndighetsuppdrag
"nordiska verksamheter måste ..... för att långsiktigt kunna upprätthålla sin konkurrenskraft eller att klara av sitt myndighetsuppdrag och bibehålla dagens välfärdsnivåer"

Her er jeg usikker på om det menes corporate social responsibility.

public remit
Explanation:
Googling first the Swedish and then my suggested English expression seems to throw up quite similar contexts.

Looking again at various examples of the use of "myndighetsuppdrag" it would seem it can be used in the sense of "remit", "mandate", "mission", i.e. an ongoing duty implicit in government policy or directives, e.g. gender equality. And this is how I interpreted the Asker's text. But it could also be used in the narrower sense of "government contract" or "government funded activity", as is clear from some job adverts that are thrown up when googling the term. So, to be absolutely clear we would need more specific context.

public/official mandate

Explanation:
'Myndighet' refers to a public body, so CSR would be inappropriate in this context. It's essentially their mission/role/remit as a public authority or government agency. As you haven't provided the entire sentence it's hard to know whether 'verksamheter' refers to public and private entities; for private companies, CSR would be fine. (Google search link provided.)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Sorry for late response. Full sentence reads "För att långsiktigt kunna upprätthålla sin konkurrenskraft eller att klara av sitt myndighetsuppdrag och bibehålla dagens välfärdsnivåer måste nordiska verksamheter hålla en hög digitaliserings- och innovationstakt. " And, yes, my searches threw up the same pages on government contracts etc. But I think your suggestion fits best, Agneta.

agree  Adrian MM.: if 'klara av' is translated something like 'discharge' rm.coe.int/1680483b19 public service media to discharge their remit. Otherwise, remit has the idea of scope, purview or 'area of competence'.
