Inspektera att glidlåsets käftar inte är mycket slitna eller är skadade så att fasthållning i komponenters nyckelspår äventyras.
Exempel på skador kan exempelvis vara hack och märken i nyckelgreppets ytor, fasetterat slitage i nyckelgreppet eller märken efter borrsträngskomponenters nyckelspårskanter.

I know nyckespår as a "spanner slot" but not sure that works here.
The jaws of the sliding lock should not be worn out so that it doesn't come loose from the "key grip grooves"?
