Art/Literary - Genealogy / Moroccan ancestral lines
Arabic term or phrase: عدول
I am translating a Moroccan family tree. I notice that the word عدول appears frequently in ancestral lines. At first I assumed it was a name, but its frequency gave me some doubt. Is this a popular Moroccan name? It would seem as though every other person is named عدول, unless the word means something different. Here are a few examples of these ancestral lines (with names altered to protect the identity):

I have left the words الودرار التزيني unaltered because I do not know if they are names or not. Whoever can explain what عدول means may be able to shed some light on these two words as well; otherwise, I will assume they are names.

agree  Dina Abdo: you may be right Saleh, especially after xpsal's note. But the word in your meaning doesn't seem to match with the context!!
