Arabic term or phrase: مآخذ
please help translating the Arabic word into English.
هذا الشخص عليه مآخذ.
alerwy
issues, areas of concerns
Explanation:
I like most of the suggestions of my colleages above, and have used these same expressions myself on many occasions. I just want to add a couple of slighltly different suggestion with a slightly less critical tone.

The sentence هذا الشخص عليه مآخذ is somewhat attenuated in its critical tone, with a sense of "we are all human, aren't we?"

If one wants to sound gentle, not too harsh, there are various possible wordings. Here are a couple of suggestions:

"There are some issues with this person."

"With respect to this person, there are some areas of concern."

The main difference is the tone of the critique.

faults, blame, guilt

Explanation:
You can look up "blame" in a thesaurus and choose the closest term to your context.

Depending on your sentence, the longer expression "... held against him" may fit within your phrase.

IT WOULD BE RATHER DIFFICULT TO GIVE THE ACCURATE ARABIC TRANSLATION WITHOUT
HAVING THE TERM IN A TEXT. I WOULD SUGGEST WEAKNESSES.
