Thanks a lot, Amal! I think "bad or evil people should go back where they came from" is a non-idiomatic version of Noha's suggestion. Both of them give the same connotations. I said in my comment "serpents" connote that the writer is talking about bad or evil people whereas the incomplete expression "يا حبة" might connote talking about them out of feeling pity or mercy. Kindly, post further context to have a clearer vision! All the best

I believe that the "bad or evil people should go back where they came from" fits the context well. I probably should have posted more context, but I did not because I thought that the expression was perhaps a well-known idiom that I had not heard before.

أظن أن باقي الجملة
"يا حبة عيني" وإذا كان كذلك فأرى أن ترجمة العبارة بما يفيد أن الثعابين رجعت لجحورها لا تنقل المعنى المراد فالكاتب يتكلم من باب الإشفاق على هؤلاء الناس بينما الترجمة، في تلك الحالة، ستوحي أن من رجعوا لجحورهم من الأشرار
وعلى كل حال ، في انتظار رد السائل حول بقية السياق حتى تتضح الرؤية.
