Arabic term or phrase: جونيلة قطيفة
Country: Egypt

An item of clothing.

From Googling, I can see that جونيلة is a skirt, but I am not sure what is meant by جونيلة قطيفة.

Also, the person in this text talks about قطيفة on its own, as a separate article of clothing:

قطيفة حرير سودة وطويلة

Does قطيفة here mean "gown" or does it have a different meaning?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you, Taghreed. In that case, maybe the قطيفة in my second example is "silk velvet". I haven't heard of this before, but I looked up velvet in Wikipedia and saw that some types of velvet are made from silk fibers.
