lumen Explanation: lumen , pl. lumina, pl. lumens (loomen, -min-, -menz) 1. The space in the interior of a tubular structure, such as an artery or the intestine. This term is identical in Bosnian and English and is a Latin term widely used in anatomic and clinical practice. I am not sure which MJEHUR is mentioned above since it can be gallblader or urine bladder. The part of the sentence above means that the cavity of the organ is free from tumors or calculus. The same term is used to describe the inner cavity of blood vessels. Reference: http://www.stedmans.com/section.cfm/45 |
