Bulgarian term or phrase: такива

Hi,

E.g. in the sentence Да ги нямаме повече.

I understand that this sentence means something like “Let us not have this any more” so “No more of this”, “Don't let this happen again.”

However, I'm greatly confused about такива – I thought I had good dictionaries but can't find the word anywhere. What does it mean and where is the stress, please?

Explanation:
такива (with a stress falling on -ки) is a plural form of такъв which is the form used for the singular of masculine gender. Other forms are: такава for the singular feminine, такова for the singular neuter.
такъв bears the meaning such/ that, like this/that/these/those. It is used for describing nearby objects or ideas already mentioned. These forms are old derivatives of това/тези.
Compare with (for objects at a distance or ideas different from those already mentioned): онакъв, онакава, онакова, онакива, that are old derivatives of онова/онези.
The phrase 'Да ги нямаме повече такива!' means 'Don't you do that again!' Here the meaning is 'Нека да няма повече подобни неща'.
'Да ги нямаме повече такива!' is very informal and can be used mainly between relatives or close friends.

For N. Am. alternative - [Come on,] Don't give me any more of that!

For another audience - We'll have no more of that.

Dialect isn't specified but that is one alternative.

For something less forceful maybe - No more of your shenanigans.

There are also more strident ways to say the same thing in N. Am. if that is the tone.

Naturallly, all of these sound much less forceful in North America than in the UK.
