It seems that China calls it "power grid". I am not comfortable with this term. Can I call it "power network"?

What power network and power grid have in common is ‘electric power transmission’.

A power network is a net-like electric distribution system from the power plant to a localized substation and eventually to the consumers at large – for residential or industrial usages.

A power grid (or a fully connected network) involves the provision of redundant power transmission lines to facilitate power routing from any power plant to any load center through a variety of routes based on economic advantages.

My own preference, for the sake of clarity, is to use ‘power network’ to describe a ‘power demanding load’ – for example, the electric power demands in 华北, 山东, 东北, 华东, 福建, 华中, 四川, 重庆, 南方, 西北etc. (A demand side scenario); and
to use ‘’power grid’ to refer to a ‘power supplying scheme’ where a multiple of power generating plants and a multiple poles of power hungry networks are to be interconnected. (A supply side scenario).

Since, we are talking about …….各主要电网的最高负荷增长率….., the key is 电网的最高负荷 (highest load demand) ……..; I vote for “ELECTRIC NETWORKS”!
