up to the releasing of the report / up to this point
Explanation:
Normally when watching TV, they always say: up to this point.
However, you may feel that you lose some information by saying that.
So maybe we can say: up to the release of the report.
:-)

FWIW, in my opinion the job of a reporter is to file a report with the news-agency, not release it to the public. Reporters in the field with a microphone in their hands seen on TV is a different situation. They probably already filed their reports and are releasing the info live.

Here are some examples of how journalists regularly use the phrase "file a report" in their trade:

I think the guiding principle should be for a reporter in a situation such as this to seek the broadest generalization possible, while still remaining rooted in direct observation. For example, if I come upon a village -- and all of us at this table have had this experience -- if I come upon a village and find houses burning here and there, I can easily file a report saying that this -- that this town is sort of caught up in the tragedy of war, that there were houses -- that I saw houses burning, and go off and leave it at that.

When Massey spoke March 8 before some three dozen people at Siena, a young reporter spending a few months in our newsroom on a Hearst Fellowship was dispatched to file a report on deadline. His 629-word story essentially accepted Massey's words at face value, although it noted Massey's ``incendiary rhetoric'' linking torture in American-run prisons with Nazi death camps, and reported some listeners didn't buy Massey's view. There was no comment from the Marine Corps, which might have disputed Massey's accounts.

On Oct. 23, a spontaneous uprising began against Communist rule. To help cover the story, United Press reporter Anthony Cavendish went to Budapest from Warsaw, and UP reporter Russell Jones drove there from Vienna.

On Oct. 30, Soviet forces withdrew, but on Nov. 4, the Soviets smashed their way back into Budapest, crushed the revolution and halted communication out of the country.

Cavendish on Nov. 8 left by car to file a report. Limited communications were restored and Jones remained in Budapest until he was expelled Dec. 5.

Jensen is the editor-in-chief of women's eNews, one of dozens of niche Web publications represented in the booths lining the convention center's Internet Avenue. Jensen looks happy. She claims to be happy. She even appears to be busy, breaking away from an interview to dispatch a reporter to the convention floor to file a report.

Prior to joining, CBS News, Kauffman was a special correspondent for "Good Morning America" (1987-90). While covering an air disaster for ABC News in 1999, Kauffman unknowingly made broadcast history. She is a member of the Nez Perce Tribe, and when her report aired, she became the first Native American journalist to file a report on a national news broadcast. She was a reporter and anchor at KING-TV Seattle (1981-87) where she earned four Emmy Awards for her work.

The journalist\'s first instinct when he or she comes across any information that could possible be of interest to the public, is to file a report and get it published to the widest possible audience. The journalist that goes to work for government, however, will have to curb this instinct. He or she will have to quickly learn that not all information that comes to his knowledge is for dissemination to colleagues in the media.
