Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / letter of appointment of representative
Chinese term or phrase: 备案
Good morning, afternoon or evening depending on what part of the world you are located:)

In a letter of appointment of a representative for a rep office, there is this string:

指定代表或委托代理人证明

兹指定/代理----本机构变更(备案)事宜

everything is nearly clear, only that 备案 I'm trying to understand how to translate it.

Could you please help me?

English translation:filing
Explanation:
备案 means to have your records on file with the authorities.

This company needs to have its registration records changed/amended and, therefore, needs to file the change/amendment.

It is about change and amendment filing.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, because you said everything is clear except for 备案, so I thought you want to know how to translate 备案. Anyway, it is still filing. A quick translation is as follows:

We hereby designate/authorise ______ to handle matters pertaining to our institution/organisation/company's registration change/amendment filing.

P.S. Depending on the context, the entity may be an institution, organisation or company. It is probably filing of the company's registration change/amendment with the business registration authorities.

变更需要备案
Changes need to filed with the authorities.
It is saying 变更事宜.
备案 is in brackets to explain that it is referring to matters pertaining to the filing, and filing of what? -> Filing of the change/amendment.

I am not sure if this explanation is clearer now. Feel free to pose further questions if it is still not clear. Thx.

Notes to answerer
Asker: yes, I know it means "filing" but in the string, how would it be translated, since it's between parenthesis ?that's my point.

Asker: thanks, Sharon, Yes I said it was all NEARLY clear but I didn't know how to fit that Amendment (filing) cause I don't fully understand the meaning in this context:D

Asker: now it's very clear! thanks Sharon!:)))
