English translation: License the product

Bus/Financial - Law: Contract(s) / Fiction novel
Chinese term or phrase: 授权给本产品
This excerpt comes from a user agreement for a piece of technology that links to a mobile phone app. It can be found under a section entitled "Third Party Services". Honestly I understand each word in the second sentence but when I put it all into English it doesn't make sense. I can't imagine abiding by a product or having a product limit you.

xx公司是基于本产品所产生的内容、维护、支持服务、保证和由此产生的诉讼等事项的唯一责任人。您已同意遵守且授权给本产品限制您有条件地使用本产品的服务。

I would really appreciate a translation of the second sentence or a bit of explanation of what is going on here. Perhaps it is obvious to you but it is extremely difficult to me.

Hi, Michelle.

I think your first sentence is a translation of this sentence:
xx公司是基于本产品所产生的内容、维护、支持服务、保证和由此产生的诉讼等事项的唯一责任人。
...is solely responsible for the Services and Application, the content thereof, maintenance, support services, and warranty therefor, and addressing any claims relating thereto.

Which means your second sentence
您已同意遵守且授权给本产品限制您有条件地使用本产品的服务。
is related to this sentence:
You agree to comply with, and your license to use the Application is conditioned upon your compliance with, all applicable third party terms of agreement...when using the Application and the Services.

They're not the same, though. I think we have to break it down like this:
您已同意遵守 有条件地使用本产品的服务 且授权给本产品 限制您 有条件地使用本产品的服务。
You agree to comply with conditional use of the services associated with the product and license the product to limit your conditional use of the services associated with the product.

Which means that the second sentence should be:
You agree to comply with, and license the product to limit, your conditional use of the services associated with the product.

However, I'm not certain it's right, and I think you should flag it up to your client as a possible 病句.

Here's an alternate reading:
您已同意遵守 且授权给本产品 (限制您有条件地使用本产品)的服务。
You agree to comply with and permit the Product to provide services which restrict your conditional use of the Product.
Still not certain :(

Thank you so much Phil! I did get confirmation that it was a really odd sentence. Anyway, the PM liked your version of the sentence in the end so it al worked out.

agree  Hamish Young: Well analyzed Phil. I doubt whether the meaning of this sentence would be clear to a Chinese attorney, however the link you have found is a strong clue to the intended meaning.
