No. of days in advance when the birthday is reminded Explanation: 感觉更准确一点 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 hrs (2008-09-18 05:36:20 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- a bit awkward. maybe, "the number of days to the birthday when the alarm goes off" |

no. of days before the birthday to send reminder Explanation: I'm just thinking if "Advance birthday reminder" works here. It should if there are standard options given, e.g. 1 day, 2 days or 3 days. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 hrs (2008-09-18 05:56:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- But isnt't the subject "no. of days" here? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 hrs (2008-09-18 06:12:12 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Hmmm, I am a bit lost here, especially with "可能生日要被提醒,但提前几天是另有其它目的呢". Don't get frustrated with me. Please explain your thoughts one more time. I'll get it. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 hrs (2008-09-18 07:11:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Hmm... are we making it a little complicated here? I find the meaning of this phrase clear. I see it more as "(no. of days before the birthday) to send reminder". Actually what you are saying seems to apply more to the "birthday to be reminded" phrase. Please let me use Yuzouren's and Qi Wei's examples (sorry, guys): (how many) days before the birthday to be reminded. In this case, the misunderstanding you described comes into play here. The phrase could be interpreted as "days before (the birthday to be reminded)". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 hrs (2008-09-18 07:16:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- This is what I have in the appointment book in my phone: Subject: Lunch with XX Location: BarNone Start: 1100 End: 1300 Reminder: 3 hours It just assumes users know what "Reminder = 3 hours" means. |
