Colour names Explanation: The link that Shang gives (http://www.sjzps.gov.cn/6zhuanlan/03/kf/006/006.htm) will show you 'concubine red' - the name given to a colour of marble in this case. Why concubine? Because in Chinese it is named after a famous consort of the Tang emperor Xuanzong, Yang Guifei (d. 756 AD). She was a bit of a character and has gone down in history as a symbol of all that is gaudy, garish, crass, ostentatious, imperious, capricious, infuriating and perfidious about women (makes her a bit of a role model). So if you can condense all that into a description of the colur in question, you're home laughing. |

FYI Explanation: when use the word "concubine" with the colour, it will give you an noble, graceful impression. it's a technique for naming the goods in china. |
