挚爱 Explanation: Comment: The chinese characters are:挚爱. The word is consisted of two characters: the first one 挚,means "true, honest, deep, heartful", the second one 爱, means" love". The word means the true love, the one you love heartfully. BTW, it is written in Chinese PINYIN: zhi4 ai4. Generally,in English-Chinese dictionaries, mostly you can find "soul mate" is translated in two words: 1. 情人, Qing2 ren2, which just means "lover" . 2. 密友, Mi4 you3, which means the closest friend who shares your secret. The first one is not so specific a translation for " soul mate". Some might translate " soul mate" into the other phrases, such as: 灵魂之爱,ling2 hun2 zhi1 ai4, though literally " soul love", it is more spiritually oriented, but not enough worldly love oriented. But at the same time, my translation as I stated here is yet not the exact match of your word. But I just can't figure out if there is any better one yet. Wait to see other peers' opinions. |
