Diplomirani grafički inženjer, dakle, surađuje s proizvođačima ambalaže, potrošačima ambalaže (spomenutih industrija), a nerijetko i s potrošačima (trgovinama, transportnim poduzećima i krajnjim kupcima). To od diplomiranog grafičkog inženjera zahtijeva poznavanje ne samo tehnologije proizvodnje grafičke (papirne) ambalaže nego i tehnologije proizvodnje svih ostalih vrsta ambalaža.
