OK - I put stand group subunit, with the definition 'part of a stand delimited in regenerated stands only where part of the original stand is delimited from the regenerated one' as a footnote. As Maria says, I don't think there can be a single 'correct' answer to this one - all responses have been equally helpful (although confusing at times:) ) so I intend to either toss a coin and choose between the various options, awarding the points this way, or make this into a not-for points question and thank everyone hugely for their time. Porostní skupina je orientační, hospodářskou a evidenční jednotkou. Pro porostní skupinu se nezjišťují taxační údaje, které se dále agregovaly, a proto případná nepřesnost ve vymezení její hranice nemá zásadní význam. Tento přístup umožňuje významně zvýšit produktivitu práce při terénní pochůzce u vědomí toho, že přesné taxační údaje jsou zjištěny ze statistické inventarizace na úrovni vyšetřovací a plánovací jednotky a hospodářského celku. U porostní skupiny je možné uvažovat o popisu na úrovni hrubého odhadu úrovně dřevinné skladby, v každém případě se stručně popisuje její stav a v případě větších odlišností od modelu daného vyšetřovací a plánovací jednotkou se také slovně popíše návrh hospodářských opatření. Porostní skupina je rovněž základní jednotkou, pro kterou je vedena hospodářská evidence.

If forest stand = unit ?!, then "porostni skupina" - cast porostu (part, section of forest stand) = sub unit or sub group, but not a group/forest stand group.

ak "porost " je spolecestvi rostlin na danem stanovisti, je jednotkou rozdeneni lesa, spravidla o velikosti nekolika ha , a "porostni skupina " je cast porostu, jehoz hranice se meni s postupujici obnovou, nebo plosne nevyznamna cast porostu. Je volotelnou soucasti rozdeleni lesa.
P sk. je definovana vyctem etazi na ni rostoucich.
P sk. - min. 0.04 ha, spada do jedneho katastralneho uzemi a mam min. jednu etaz.
Porost: nadraz. jednotkou je dilec a pak oddeleni, podraz. jednotkou je porostni skupina
...potom group nie je podraz. jednotka ale jednotka.
