Czech term or phrase: že by v tom nejaká závada býti mela
In a local history book from a small town in Moravia, there is a story about a citizen who had loaned 50 gulden to the town council. The town didn't repay the citizen, and witnesses later testified that the debt was indeed just..."a žádný z nich se neozval, že by v tom nejaká závada býti mela; toliko omlouvali se pro nezaplacení následkem nemožností, o poshovení žádajice." I understand from the last part of this quote that "they merely apologized for non-payment of the debt due to their inability to pay, asking for forgiveness." English translation:...that there should be any problem
Explanation:
In context of a full sentence:
"Nobody said that there should be any problem (to pay back the debt)"

The style is a bit archaic so keep that in mind when translating - you might want to adjust the style of your English translation, too.
