Šikanózní jsou řízení, resp. často návrhy na řízení (žaloby), jejichž smyslem není dosáhnout účelu řízení (tj. zpravidla uspokojení, zrovna u trestního řízení je to indiv./gen. prevence, represe atd.) ale pouze poškodit druhou stranu. Frivolous (lawsuit, persecution) má nejpodobnější význam.
