Social Sciences - Religion / sociology of religion under Communism
Czech term or phrase: "národní směna"
Dear colleagues,

as I mentioned in my last post, I am currently translating an academic article concerning the topic of sociology of religion under the Communist rule (Czechoslovakia). Please find below a term that I am unsure how to translate. I would welcome your suggestions.

"Církev československá (CČS), která nedisponovala tak významnými teoretickými mysliteli, ve své orientaci lavírovala, hned po únorovém převratu se však přiklonila na tu „správnou“ stranu, například prostřednictvím odpracování tzv. národní směny."

The above cited excerpt comes from a passage that concerns the stance particular individuals and whole churches took towards Marxism. Here, to put it in my own words, the Czechoslovak Church was unsure about what position to take however, as stated above, after the Communist coup d’état, it chose the 'right' side, which was evident, for example, in ..... "odpracování tzv. národní směny". Here, I am lost.

I would be very grateful for your help.
With my best wishes,
