Explanation:
In the Czech hockey system, the "prolínací baraž" (now the baraž o extraligu) are essentially "promotion/relegation playoffs", consisting of a round-robin mini-league made up of (i) the worst teams in the league above (e.g. Extraliga); and (ii) the best teams in the league below (e.g. 1. Liga). The teams that finish in the highest positions in this mini-league earn the right to play in the league above next season.

"Nadstavbová čast" is also a kind of round-robin playoff round, which is where the league splits into a given number of sections after the regular season. In different sports and countries, this is called different things, e.g. in Scottish football "Top six/Bottom six", in Belgian football "the Championship playoffs/Relegation playoffs", in Austrian ice hockey "Final round /Qualification round", in Danish football "Promotion Group/Relegation Group". The most literal translation would perhaps be "postseason" as used in American sports, but this usually alludes to a series of head-to-head elimination playoffs.

Given the context here, however, I would actually go with "finished the Postseason in last (16th) place", as the use of "16th place" would not be accurate if we used any of the other options (rather, for a 16-team league, it would be 8th in the Bottom Eight, 8th in the Relegation Group, 8th in the Relegation Playoffs, 8th in the Playouts). On the other hand, the "Postseason" tends to suggest we are still talking about the 16-team league as a whole, with the league season merely split into two parts.

Alternatively, if "Postseason" is considered too American, we might say "...finished the Championship/Relegation round in last (16th) place".
