English translation:climate-controlled pighouse
Explanation:
I am not sure what is the best translation for 'stal' in this context
This may depend on the type of animals kept in it, its architecture and things, but I do think 'climate-controlled' is an option

Pigs can be farmed in free range, being allowed to wander around a village, kept in fields, or tethered in a simple house. In developed countries, farming has moved away from traditional pig farming and pigs are now typically intensively farmed. Today, hog operations are significantly larger than in the past, with most large-scale farms housing 5,000 or more pigs in *climate-controlled buildings*.

From a Dutch magazine :

Morphological investigations of slaughterhouse material revealed a prevalence of 63% of the sows (n = 224) and 36% of the slaughter pigs (n = 209) with *mucosal lesions* in the pars oesophagea. The mucosal lesions were composed of severe hyperkeratosis, erosions or ulceration. Microscopic examination showed that hyperkeratosis is attended with parakeratosis. From experiments in a *climate controlled pighouse* it could be concluded that mixing of unfamiliar pigs resulted in higher prevalences of gastric lesions as compared with keeping the litter together until the end of the experiment (farrow to finish system).

perhaps I should add

'pars oesophagea' refers to the upper part of the stomach/maag
'gastric' refers to 'stomach/maag'

so both articles refer to 'gastric mucosal lesions/maagslijmvliesveranderingen

this means 'climate-controlled pighouse' in the article above refers to 'klimaatstal'

agree  Machteld/Johan Schrameijer/Westenburg: climate-controlled is een gangbare uitdrukking
57 mins
  -> Dank je, Machteld. I believe it clearly expresses what they are doing in these buildings.

neutral  Alexander Schleber (X): Where does the pig-house appear in the question??
1 hr
  -> Please, Alexander, look at what I said with respect to the translation of 'stal' and my references. Then you will also notice that this 'klimaatstal' in fact does refer to a pighouse. But that's not the main point, look also at the Wikipedia link.

agree  Sue Stewart-Anderson (X): with 'climate-controlled house'. pighouse, poultryhouse etc can be specified if you know the species concerned, 'stable' if it's horses, or 'animal house' if species unknown
2 hrs
  -> Thank you, Sue. Also for your valuable information/explanation as far as 'stal' is concerned.

agree  Josephine Isaacs (X): I also agree with Sue: animal house if species is unknown.
9 hrs
  -> Thank you, Josephine. It is interesting to learn about these terms for the Dutch word 'stal'. Apparently van Dale is not complete in this respect as I suspected it wasn't.

climatised stable

Explanation:
stal = stable
If you look up "klimaatstal " on NL Google you will find many references to stable climatisation.

stal (Van Dale) = stable, cowshed, sty, herd, flock, racing stable and stall. Climatised only fits with stable stable, cowshed, sty and stall. The most neutral of these is stable, since the source question nowhere mentions pigs or cows.

  -> Thanks

disagree  Sue Stewart-Anderson (X): as it's not necessarily a stable, though 'climatised' may be acceptable in US English. I wouldn't use Google NL to search for English terms
3 hrs
  -> It can be climatis(z)ed stbale, so why disagree. Is there any indication in the original question that makes another translation preferential??
