Many Miltonia growers suffer losses starting from the final cultivation phase and during the cooling and 'afkweekfase'.

Example sentence(s):
  • Phalaenopsis cultivation involves three phases: growing, cooling, and finishing.

Explanation:
for 'afkweekfase'
From http://www.dehoogorchideeen.nl/bedrijf.html:
"Koelinstallatie
(NL pages - 'Bedrijf')
Cooling system
The cooling system ensures that the plants flower and that the growing process can be completed steadily to safeguard longevity. (EN page - 'Business')

In view of Ron's contribution, perhaps "completion of the growth phase" (see above "..growing process can be completed"..) is a better option.

disagree  Ron Hartong PhD (X): growth phase = opkweek; I wonder how you would translate 'de eindfase van de opkweek' earlier in the sentence given by Bracha.
