Dutch term or phrase: voorbeveiliging
Does anyone have any suggestions are regards the correct translation of "voorbeveiliging" in the context below?

English translation:primary (overcurrent) fusing
Explanation:
The primary fuse acts with other secondary safety systems which may be within the transformer, whilst the primary fuse is fitted to the outside of the transformer.

The method for establishing coordination between the transformer primary fuse and the main secondary protective device is essentially the same as that described previously for a feeder circuit breaker or fuse, except for the handling of the current margin (or equivalent time margin) for the phase-to-phase secondary fault not involving ground on a delta-wye connected transformer.

Circuit Breakers

Circuit breakers are designed to react to a fault by making a physical separation in the current carrying or conducting element by inserting an insulating medium.

Fuses

The most common protective device in use, the fuse is basically a circuit breaker that works only once and then must be replaced.

neutral  Jack den Haan: The protection means or device could, but would not necessarily need to be a fuse, K.

agree  Garyu: an ampere protection is afaik usually implemented as a fuse

agree  Ken Cox: I was thinking of 'primary protection device', but that may not be advisable in conjunction with a transformer. 'Upstream p.d.' would probably work as well.

-> Thanks, Kenneth. I think 'upstream' might cause a bit of confusion with the primary side of the transformer, too. But then again, so could 'pre-protection'. The same potential confusion could arise in Dutch too, of course!
