I actually think Michael is justified in asking his question: this is a forum for professional translators and if Dutch is one of your working languages (which it should be if you're translating from it) this terminology may be considered common knowledge, or at the very least easily Googleable. If there's a reason (confusion in source text or in results found or whatever) for asking this after all it's reasonable to expect some elaboration to be provided.

@ Michael: What I said is not "nonsense". Once again you are making assumptions with this kind of response. You might have the time to spare with your lexicon compilations and your desire to have dialogue. Others may not, nor want to waste that time. Old North American Indian saying: "Grant that I may not criticize my neighbor before I have walked a mile in his moccasins". Instead of pontificating and answering a question with a question, give a direct answer and then follow up with a delving question.

Nonsense. There is no harm in asking the asker to provide his/her/their/its thoughts. This forum isn't supposed to be some kind of human-enhanced machine translation engine, where anonymous entities can just drop by, get an answer so they can translate a text in a language they don't even speak, and run off again. Not saying Paramonol is such an entity, but a bit more human interaction wouldn't hurt.

@ Michael: you are getting as bad as a couple of other respondents on this forum. Paramonol has asked a straightforward question. The answer may be abundantly clear to the likes of you and me but it isn't to him. Otherwise he wouldn't have asked. So why act like a pontificating, pedantic pedagogue in trying to entice the pupil to answer. Many people do not have time for such giddygoating. Remember one thing above all: there is no such thing as a 'stupid question'; only a stupid answer.
