punched holes Explanation: Thin material (pressed steel mounting brackets in this case) is punched rather than drilled. Sometimes called pre-punched holes which IMO, is an unnecessary distinction. Some holes are semi-punched and need to be popped out before fitting. This is common when there are two or more possible hole positions, and only one is required. These are also sometimes called pre-pressed holes (see reference comments). |
