Dutch term or phrase: baleinen
Context: blinds / rolgordijnen

Source text:

Van Dale GW N-E suggests terms like whalebone, baleen, rib, stiffeners and stay, but I'd like to know which term is used specifically for this kind of thing in the area of window furnishings/raamdecoratie. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you Kate, Eva, Stefan and Kenneth for your help! PS: 'slat' seems to be the term for the flat, rectangular components of a Luxaflex-type of blind, not the "balein".

agree  Ken Cox: I'm glad Jack asked this, because my client glossary from a Belgain manufacturer has 'boning', which only seems to fit with bras.
