sunny approach Explanation: this sounds exactly as daft as the Dutch sentence. The one thing that slightly bugs me is that maybe they call one of the chair components an "insteek", because if they don´t: it´s just very silly marketese. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 44 mins (2007-01-04 13:17:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- sunny stitching...no idea what that is supposed to be. The accent on the "én" does give the impression there on for a sunny approach: Having designed this chair, essentially for indoorsuse, bút...when the sun comes out, it can álso be used outside! ain´t that fine :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 56 mins (2007-01-04 13:29:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- writeaway is actually perfectly right, better not make a fool of yourself as a translator and come up with something less silly. Come rain or shine or whatever |

cheerful design Explanation: Cheerful design might work, although I agree that it would be wise to contact the client for clarification. |

sunny/cheerful (take your pick) look Explanation: 'insteek' sounds a bit Flemish to me, which is why I would go for 'look'. Both sunny and cheerful are possible, I think. And indeed, I would also ask the client what they mean. Is the colour zonnig? or the design? This type of text requires more than just translating as we all know. They expect you to rewrite it and replace bad Dutch/Flemish with good English. |
