Trail Commission Explanation: When I worked for a fund company 'Trail Commission' was a term we used for a payment made to the person who had arranged the investment on behalf of a client. It was calcualted as a % of the value of that client's holding (which also seems to be the case here) . It was not paid exclusively to banks, but to whoever arranged the investment, often financial advisers. Following the link the other respondent gave, it sounds like this 'Distributievergoeding' is also paid in lieu of financial advice, which was also suppoed to be the point of trail commision also Please see below re trail commission. What is Trail Commission Fund managers levy an Annual Management Charge (AMC) on their funds. Typically this is around 1.5% of the value of the fund and may include a Trail Commission payment to us as the distributor. The Trail Commission payment is paid over the lifetime of products to cover the cost of providing their services. It is generally around 0.1% to 0.75% per annum of the value invested by a client. |
