Can't come up with a fluent, natural-sounding version that includes all the various elements. Probably because I'm having to do this in a hurry! ;-)

I didn't actually use any of the suggestions, eventually opting for a freer translation ("a topic that's on everyone's lips these days"), but I like this one best, though I'd probably miss out "burning" as being a bit superfluous. Thanks, everyone.
