Doeltaal is Brits Engels

Dan vul ik deze in voor het glossarium. Aanvankelijk als discussiepunt geplaatst omdat dit niet mijn vakgebied is. "Competence" vond ik meteen al fout en "duty" hoefde ik niet over na te denken.

Dank je. Ik heb voor jouw optie gekozen, al vind ik de optie van Louis V. ook plausibel. Groet, Simone

Explanation:
I think a more literal translation would sound odd - after all, if it's their job (taak) to manage the estate, it goes without saying that they have authorisation (bevoegdheid) to do so.

neutral  writeaway: I realise you are a proponent of minimalist translation but imo, this is probably cutting corners too much. I can't imagine a Dutch end client being happy seeing one word instead of two. /but is it tautology? Imo, that's not obvious here.

-> It's not "minimalist", it's just good English. Every word should count, and you shouldn't translate tautology with tautology.

neutral  Tina Vonhof (X): I like your reasoning but in legal translation you need to spell it out in detail.
